Take Your Practice Deeper

General Program is an ideal starting point for those interested to find out more about Buddhism and meditation. It introduces basic Buddhist view, teachings, and meditations through lunchtime and evening drop-in classes which are usually supplemented by optional day courses, weekend courses and meditation retreats. All the teachings are based on commentaries by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and are open to everyone, including children and teenagers.

Foundation Program is a structured program designed for practitioners who wish to deepen their Dharma study and meditation practice. Through listening, contemplating, and engaging in meditations and group discussions, foundation program students can increase their wisdom, Dharma experience and develop meaningful spiritual relationships. We go deeper than in drop-in General Program classes because each class can build upon the one before it, presupposing knowledge, and shifting the responsibility of learning from the teacher to the student. And then we start to change. It offers the opportunity to study six of Geshe Kelsang’s books in great depth. The books are commentaries to Je Tsongkhapa’s writings and contain the very essence of Buddha’s teachings.

Teacher Training Program is designed for people who wish to dedicate themselves to the study, practice and flourishing of Kadam Dharma in this world. The purpose of the program is to enable practitioners to deepen their knowledge and experience of Mahayana Buddhism, and to train as qualified New Kadampa Tradition Teachers. In addition to completing the study of twelve texts of Sutra and Tantra, which include five of the texts studied in the Foundation Program, the student is required to observe certain commitments, and to complete a number of meditation retreats.
